Caucasia

Ok so so far I find the book ok. It seems like it's going to start picking up now. In the beginning it was weird. I had no idea what was going on for the longest time. I can for sure say though that something is funky between Birdie's mom and Redbone. Part of me thinks that she works for him with something illegal and then he told so everyone is upset. Another part of me thinks that he has something to do with Birdie. Redbone and Birdie's mom definetly know something though! I really want to know too!

Also why is Birdie so isolated all the time? I feel so bad for this girl. She is not black enough to fit in with her dad and sister, yet her mother is white. Also, I feel it was mean of Cole to start leaving Birdie in the dust when Carmen came around. Yeah she stuck up for her at the hair salon but she left her!

There are a lot of things going on in this book right now and I wish the author would start telling us some of the answers.

I agree, Redbone is SKETCHY. I never really thought about the mom working for Redbone, that's a good thought.I just assumed that maybe they worked together and the police caught him and he got that deal that if he gave up the other people he would go free. Just my idea but I think you might be on track with the whole working FOR him thing.

Kelsey-

Yeah I agree. The beginning of the book did start out a little slow but now it is starting to pick up. I really do like this book too. Although the parts where either birdie or cole get isolated are all really sad. That was such a sad time period for our country. I also agree with you on the fact that Redbone is a creepy guy. He is someone who I wouldn't want to ever be around me. I think your right in the fact that Redbone is in on the thing with Sandy. Although I think that Redbone is actually like an undercover cop or something. But who knows?

Anyway I loved your blog!!

I'm totally with you on this one. the begining of this book was so slow and horrible I honestly thought that this book would never get interested; however, now that it has I have so many unanswered questions and I'm very confused.

I gotta say, after getting farther in the book it's really disappointing. Granted I haven't finished it yet, but after finding out that nothing is after Birdie's mother (or at least that we'll never find it out) it's just gotten to be a boring read. As far as we know there's nothing more to find out, except what will Birdie do next? Which, quite honestly I don't care as much about as the author hasn't been very good about making Birdie's actions exciting.
